Last month I attended the Radical Self Expression Summit where I met a boat load of woman who dare to express themselves boldly without apologies. Sounds like my type of crowd right?! Among those phenomenal chick-a-dees was a southern blossom by the name of MeShona Walker. I KNEW she was my cup of tea after she greeted me with a kiss on the cheek then said “I give it twice” (insert southern drawl) followed by a peck on the other cheek. Ha! She expressed her love language right up front… yep, me likey!
The conversation that followed was a heart centered exchange where MeShona shared her journey and struggles with Vitiligo. The auto-immune disorder causes a person to lose the pigment in their skin and is often exacerbated by stress. We all have a story and I think part of the journey is sharing with and healing others. I’m proud to share the story of another emotional nudist with you… listen to MeShona’s story.
“I raise corporate awareness about people with vitiligo because often times when we go on interviews “the universal handshake” so often extended is quickly WITHDRAWN for fear that vitiligo is contagious.” – MeShona Walker
